Discover our varied story categories
CMG Writing covers three genres in our short story collection. Thrillers, romcoms and mysteries!
Our thrillers hope to get you on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next with our characters. We take our inspiration from some classic thriller authors and we hope to captivate you in a smaller story with the same twisty endings!
Onto our romcoms and who doesn't love a classic meet-cute? Stories to hopefully bring a smile to your face, we write about a wide range of romantic relationships. Representation matters and we hope you enjoy reading some slow-burn or enemies-to-lovers tales as much as we enjoy creating them!
And finally, our mysteries. Do you love a whodunnit story? Are you like us and want to figure out who the killer is before the reveal? We will bring you stories where you're kept guessing and maybe a red herring (or two) until that final reveal. We will also include stories from a how-catch-them POV where we enter the mind of the killer and follow the police trying to stop them!
Thrillers
Our thrillers aim to pull our readers into the world and gain a sense of the characters we've built. Whether that's outright hating the main antagonist or left wondering what happened, we pull you into worlds where you should expect everything to happen!
Romcoms
Everyone has a soft spot for Rom-coms. If you want a random meet-cute or awkward characters you can relate to, we hope you enjoy our stories where we bring a smile to your face and make you laugh.
Mysteries
If you're like us and you like figuring out what's going on before it happens, we invite you to read our mystery short stories. Can you guess who the killer is and why they do what they do? Let us know if you work it out before the reveal.
About CMG WRITING
CMG Writing began with a real passion for reading and writing. We spent most of our childhood with noses in books getting lost in all sorts of adventures. We bring you these stories hoping to give you that small escape from every day life and to build a community together through a love of reading!
Our storytelling philosophy
CMG Writing is a way for us to share our stories with anyone who wants to read them. We do this for the pure love of building characters, creating stories and sometimes even surprising ourselves where the story ends up.
We understand the importance of building our characters, giving them a backstory (that may not even appear into the storyline itself) but it gives us a clearer understanding of why our characters make the choices they do.
